One of the major hits for HBO in the past television season was the freshman half hour show Girls. Produced by comedy veteran Judd Apatow, and created and showun by relative newcomer Lena Dunham, whose prior movie Tiny Furniture had earned its share of praise, the show exploring the lives of four twentysomething women in New York found itself resonating with audiences across the US, cutting through geographical and age breakdowns.
