Mexican director Carlos Reygadas (Japón, Silent Light) had critics divided with his latest, Post Tenebras Lux (the title is a Latin phrase meaning “after darkness, light”). Met with boos following its premiere at Cannes last year (although it went on to win the Best Director prize), Post Tenebras Lux represents the director’s attempt to make a personal work.
