A new trailer and a creepy marketing video soars online for ‘Man of Steel’
Following the latest viral marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures has now released a new trailer for director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, set for release on June 14. With a script by David Goyer, the highly anticipated movie features Henry Cavill as the titular hero himself alongside Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Ayelet Zurer, Richard Schiff and Christopher Meloni. And in case you missed it, I’ve also embedded a viral video-type transmission which popped up on the official website. The clip doesn’t feature any new footage of the movie, but it’s actually pretty effective. To those of you who don’t make the weekly trip to your local comic book shop, the film follows Clark Kent, a journalist who was adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super powers and struggles to find his own place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero named Superman to protect the Earth and its people. The villain of the film is General Zod (Michael Shannon), a military leader from Krypton who was excommunicated to the Phantom Zone for his crimes against Krytonians.
