A new trailer for ‘Supergirl’ expands on the mythology and shows plenty of action

One of the more noteworthy comic book TV show adaptations on the horizon is Supergirl, as CBS attempts to get in on the superhero hype train. The series is developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, many of whom have also worked on The CW’s DC superhero TV shows. Unfortunately it does not exist in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow, at least not until further notice. With less than two weeks before its sneak peek premiere at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, a second trailer has surfaced which expands on the mythology and features far more action than the previous trailer. Greg Berlanti‘s (Arrow,The Flash) influence on the series is evident, but reactions to the Supergirl trailers are mixed. Some feel the show has potential while others worry about the heavy dose of romantic comedy. Hopefully the series will be a clever piece of counter-programming to the overcrowded male superhero TV shows out there. Watch the new trailer and below and let us know what you think.
