Alex Proyas to Direct Paradise Lost
According to Variety Magazine, John Milton’s epic poem about Lucifer and the Garden of Eden, which attempts to rationalize God’s will, will be directed by none other than Alex Proyas. Proyas, who is best known for his films I Robot, Knowing and The Crow, is without question the most qualified filmmaker to tackle such morally complex material. Variety also reports that it will be written as an action film, and will probably be shot in 3-D. As of yet, no one has been cast as Lucifer.
Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Vincent Newman are producing and Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures will be co-financing the project. It is slated for a 2012 release date.
