The success of Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids in 2011 went a long way towards disproving the Hollywood myth that a female-led comedy could not do well financially , thus opening the door for women to take a more central role in funny movies. The fruits of that labour are now beginning to show, with the similarly themed Bachelorette that screened at the Sundance 2012 festival. Written and directed by former Terriers staff writer Leslye Headland, who’s making her jump to the big screen in both departments, Bachelorette stars Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Arden Myrin, Rebel Wilson, Adam Scott, James Marsden, Hayes MacArthur, and Kyle Bornheimer. A trailer for the movie has now been released, which you can see below.
