Big name cast leads the intense first trailer for ‘Everest’

Jake Gyllenhaal in Everest

It looks like we have the real battle between nature and man (sorry San Andreas).

The first trailer for Everest dropped on Thursday and offered an initial glimpse to film with a massive cast including Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Sam Worthington, Robin Wright, Emily Watson, and Keira Knightley.

The trailer makes the film look like an intense experience and will be this year’s version of 127 Hours or Wild where it is man versus nature and how they overcome the odds. Both of those movies were solid so maybe Everest can do the same. The cast is incredible and a lot of those actors have been on a roll lately including Gyllenhaal, Brolin, and Clarke who have each shown up in big time movies before this (Nightcrawler, Inherent Vice, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).

It’ll be interesting to see if the film can manage the line between sentimental and action, but judging from this first look, it probably can.

Everest is directed by Baltasar Kormakur and opens in theaters on September 18 in IMAX and IMAX 3D.

Michael Fassbender is ‘Macbeth’ in the first trailer for Justin Kurzel’s adaptation

This may be the last mission (not really) in latest ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ trailer
