‘Blancanieves’, Spain’s submission for the 85th Academy Awards, gets a US trailer

It’s been an open secret that foreign films have been making their presence felt in more visible ways at the Academy Awards over the last few years. From 1997’s Best Actor victory for Roberto Benigni in the Italian film Life is Beautiful to 2011’s The Artist taking home Best Picture, the Academy has proven an increasing willingness to look beyond the confines of Hollywood, allowing for foreign films, in turn, to make greater inroads. The latest in this line is Blancanieves, Spain’s official submission to this year’s Academy Awards, which will see a US release in late January. In anticipation of this release, a new trailer for the movie has been made available, and can be seen below.
