It’s Friends Day! I’m not sure exactly who decided this or why, although maybe the people who write the code for these Facebook videos that use your photos had something to do with it. If you’re one of the countless Facebook users across the globe, you woke up today to find Facebook prompting you to share a cutesy little video celebrating all the good times you and your buds have shared. Or alternately, the video highlights how all the photos you have of you interacting with other human beings are from years ago because you’ve become a friendless misanthrope since you graduated and now you spend all your time writing on the internet and watching youtube videos. I’m sorry, what were we talking about?
Oh right. Not one to be outdone by Deadpool’s on-point marketing department, the minds at Marvel took advantage of this new Facebook trend and created a Friends Day video for Captain America himself, Steve Rogers! And just to go the extra mile, they added a dark twist at the end to tie the video in with the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. It’s really great when big movies like this have some fun with their marketing, and the video is a great example of this.
You can check out the video below, and let us know in the comments section if you buy into any of this Friends Day business.
