Christian Bale is Moses in ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ trailer

Moses is the hero Egypt deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So says the lord.

I might be getting some movies confused there, but regardless, Christian Bale is back in action hero form in the trailer for Ridley Scott’s latest swords and sandals epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, a retelling of the Biblical story of Moses (Bale) and his exodus from Ancient Egypt under the rule of Rhamses (Joel Edgerton). Exodus is one of several Christian stories to hit the big screen this year, including Son of God, but it’s also finding Scott back in top form, away from the turgid and surreal drama of The Counselor and back to the period genre that won him an Oscar for Gladiator. Exodus also stars Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Aaron Paul, and it’s set for a December 12 release date nationwide.
