Clint Mansell To Score The Next Film By Duncan Jones
The composer Clint Mansell and former lead singer and guitarist of the band “Pop Will Eat Itself”, made a name for himself after scoring his friend, director Darren Aronofsky debut film, π. His main composition “Lux Aeterna,” used in Aronofsky’s follow up Requeim For A Dream has become perhaps the most popular piece to any score in decades, appearing in dozens of compilations and movie trailers.
Now it seems the talented composer will provide the score for Source Code, the second film from director Duncan Jones. Mansell whose score for Jones’ debut feature Moon was a tremendous contribution to that film’s atmosphere was voted Sound On Sight’s favorite score of 2009.
The news came way of a tweet from Jones, who said, “Have a bloody fantastic bit of Source Code news. Super star Clint Mansell Will be scoring the film. You have no idea how relieved I am.”
Source Code will be released on April 15, 2011 and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan and Jeffrey Wright in a story about a soldier who is brought into a government program designed to investigate terrorism.
