Contest: Win The Quentin Tarantino, eight movie, 10-disc Blu-ray Boxed Set

We are wrapping up our month long Quentin Tarantino movie club marathon, and what better way to go out than to give away a prize. We worked hard all month long recording not one, but four epic podcasts looking back on the Tarantino’s oeuvre. It started with episode 341 of the Sound On Sight podcast in which Tim Buell of First Showing joined Ricky and Simon to break down Tarantino’s breakthrough features, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. On episode 46 of the Sordid Cinema podcast, we took a look at two wildly different efforts: 1997′s Jackie Brown, in which Tarantino tackled someone else’s fictional universe and Tarantino’s half of the Grindhouse double feature, Death Proof. If that wasn’t enough, on episode 47, guest Chris Clemente joined us to discuss Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair. Finally, just in time for Christmas, we concluded with converging for an epic take on Django Unchained, the writer-director’s long-awaited take on the Western.

Thanks to Lionsgate and Miramax, in order to celebrate four years of Sound On Sight and 20 years of the filmmaker we just can’t get enough of, we are giving away the Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection Blu-ray set.

If you love Quentin Tarantino flicks, an eight movie, 10-disc Blu-ray boxed set will probably pique your interest. The set captures 20 years of the filmmaker’s career and includes Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof and Inglourious Basterds. Additionally, there’s special collectible packaging and artwork and two extra discs with five hours of all new bonus material.

This prize is valued anywhere from $119.99 – $83.97, depending on where you shop.

How to enter:

Podcasts cut drastically into our bandwidth. It costs us money but we don’t charge anyone, so anyone interested in entering must follow these simple steps:

1- Give us a written review/rating on I tunes. This takes less than a minute to do. You do need an account but I tunes is free to sign up.

2- Once you have left a comment, email Ricky at and let us know what your comment said so we know you actually followed step one.

What if I don’t have an I tunes account?

Sorry folks but we are only keeping this contest open for listeners of our show. We realize that I tunes requires a credit card to sign up, but according to our statistic, most of our listeners tune in using I tunes. Besides singing up is free. They don’t charge you a cent.

If you total up the amount of episodes for both our Sordid Cinema and Sound On Sight shows, we’ve recorded a total of 393 shows. It takes us at least an hour and fifteen minutes to record each episode, an hour to edit and an additional 15 minutes to publish. So in other words, we’ve spent 982 hours distributing our show throughout the years – and without pay.

Keeping in mind, this is our fourth contest this month, I’d like to think we can get away with one exception.

Can anyone enter:

The contest is open to listeners in the United States and Canada only. I apologize to our international listeners, but this is not something I can control.

Best of luck to all those who enter. Check out the video to get a better idea of what we are giving away.
