After colliding on the page in 2009, a famous set of Jane Austen’s characters are now poised to fight zombies on the big screen in an upcoming film.
Titled Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the first trailer for the movie has now been released. The film is written and directed by Burr Steers, who adapts it from the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey and Charles Dance reunite in the film, joined by Sam Riley, Lily James, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, and Matt Smith.
The film’s synopsis is as follows.
Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.
This is the second adaptation of Grahame-Smith to make it to the big screen, following 2012’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which Grahame-Smith wrote the screenplay for. The film also marks Steers’ return to screenplay duties for the first time since 2003’s How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is set to hit US and Canadian theatres on February 5th, 2016. The trailer can be seen below.
