‘Empire’, the Fox show from Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, releases its first trailer


One of the more successful movies of the 2013 cinematic year was Lee Daniels’ The Butler, leading to critical and commercial acclaim for both director Lee Daniels and writer Danny Strong. Many were intrigued to learn that the duo would be teaming up again on their next project, and the interest was heightened with the news that said project would be a television show.  Titled Empire, the show stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Gabourey Sidibe, Malik Yoba, and Jussie Smollett, and is co-created by Daniels and Strong, with original music by Timbaland. Alongside the announcement that the show has been picked up for a series order to start airing in 2015, Fox has also released the show’s first trailer, which can be seen below.
