I have to admit the new Corvettes look pretty awesome. I didn’t buy one (opted for an Audi A7 instead), but when I see them on the road, they get my attention.
Widely dubbed as the greatest American sports car, the Corvette was also regarded as the car of the future when it debuted in 1953 with its convertible and signature fiber glass body. Chevrolet’s chief photographer Myron Scott is credited for naming the ‘Vettes after the smallest class of warship vessel. The company produced only 300 during its first release, produced the 500,000th Corvette in 1977, the 1,000,000th Corvette in 1992 and reached 1.5 million in 2009.
Chevrolet debuted its second generation of Corvettes in 1963 which also marked the beginning of the iconic Sting Ray. The C3 1979 model holds the record for the best-selling Corvette, the 1968 LT-2 Corvette is the record-holder fastest Corvette while the 2014 Corvette Stingray is the fastest car in reverse at 53mph.
5. Corvette GT1 Championship Edition
This 2009 championship package is nothing less of a dream car for top speed lovers. It is crafted in a trim appearance of an exterior graphics that toys C6.R. A super look of black or velocity yellow paint complemented by black headlight surrounds. Chrome wheels and ZR1-style spoilers.it is customized with ebony leather seats with center armrest.

4. 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition
Chevrolet launched a special Corvette Z06 famously Called the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition. Compared to the corvetteeZR1 which is ranked as the most advanced model among the lineup Z06 is a favorite among track mouse who consider it to be better balanced and more focused with its 505-hp, 7.0-liter V-8.
Equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes, driver-adjustable magnetorheological shocks, black 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, and Michelin Pilot PS2 rubber. A carbon-patterned engine cover also is included, as are black headlight surrounds, door mirrors, carbon-fiber ZR1 rocker extensions, a carbon-fiber ZR1 front splitter, and numbered door decals for when you take your Carbon to the track.
A raised carbon-fiber hood like the ZR1’s (but without the plastic window to the engine bay), a carbon roof panel, and a body-color, full-width rear spoiler rounds out the exterior mods. The only colors offered are Inferno Orange and a subdued Supersonic Blue, the latter being new for 2011.

3. Corvette C6 ZR1
When looking at what is now the third fastest production Corvette ever, Things are getting really serious now. If you look closely at the chunky carbon strip down the centreline of the bonnet, you’ll see a dividing line. That’s because the half nearest the windscreen is actually the engine’s carbon fiber intercooler cover, meaning the block is breaching the bodywork and poking its head out in the open to try and say hello. It’s better than that because when you start the beast up, it’ll visually kick and shudder on its engine mounts outside the bodywork. As you can see, the carbon weave has been given Pagani-like perfection, so it matches seamlessly with the two cooling vents ahead of it. How un-American.
Talking of cooling, it’s been well documented that the C7 was plagued with issues in this area. So, the ZR1 has a much more efficient intercooler system with more extracting vents. But, to go full-on boots and braces, there are four new radiators onboard, bringing the total number to 13 – three more than a Bugatti Chiron.
You have a choice as to how you want all that power to be sent to the 335 section rear wheels via an e-diff; either a seven-speed manual with rev-match or an eight-speed auto’. Why not the incredibly clever 10-cogger from the Camaro ZL1? Well, it doesn’t fit. We’d recommend the manual regardless.
Let’s talk about aero. The ZR1 is available with two wing options; either a standard wing for a top speed more than 210mph, or ‘high’ wing if you want the rear end to stick to the track like a sauteed Tangfastic. Thankfully, both come with two-piece carbon ceramic brakes, with six-piston aluminum calipers to bring it to a stop. The adjustable high wing is part of the ZTK Performance package and is bolted straight to the chassis like the Corvette Racing C7.R. Which is a brilliant bit of pub ammo. More than that, it can be manually adjusted by five degrees and gives 430kg of downforce at its top speed. That’s like driving around with a grand piano bungee corded onto the back.
Meanwhile, a deep-dish front splitter with carbon fiber end caps, Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tyres (instead of the standard Super Sports), plus a specific Nürburgring-honed chassis and Magnetic Ride Control suspension tune, as well as bucket seats, complete the optional ZTK package. Don’t be shy about your aero if you don’t spec it: even with the smaller (but still large in the scheme of things) wing, the ZR1 generates up to 70 percent more downforce than the boggo Z06, and all ZR1s come with a front underwing to bolster stability and increase downforce.
Visually, it’s a lot more aggressive than your standard but-already-shouty Corvette. There’s a new, sharper front end that’s enhanced thanks to the jutting chin spoiler flanked by the optional carbon endplates. There’s also plenty more carbon bits: the bonnet, fender inserts, rockers, splitters, the rear wing and the removable top. If you spec the launch Sebring Orange package, this is all contrasted with lots of – you guessed it – orange. Then there are the four exhausts which will shout the sweet music of hell. Something that Chevy is trying to patent – so it’s got to sound good. The 6.2-liter V8 gave it an overall speed of 206 mph and a 638-hp generation. That also gave it a pretty spicy price tag to go with its impressive list of specs and numbers. The ZR1 almost made it through but, unfortunately, its reign as the fastest Corvette is long over.
2. Corvette C7 Z06
When it came out in 2015, the C7 Corvette Z06 didn’t only become the GM’s fastest production car, but the fastest production Corvette ever produced. The new C7 Z06 doesn’t just beat the record set by the old C6 ZR1; it chews it up and spits it out with a blistering 0 to 60 time of just 2.95 seconds. The Z06 still hosts a 6.2-liter V-8 engine, but this time it’s tuned to develop a staggering 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. Of torque.
General Motors’ executive vice president, Mark Reuss, summed things up nicely in a statement about the new Z06 by saying: “The Corvette has long been known as America’s sports car. With the, capability of the new Z06 rivaling the best performance cars i,n the world, we will also be America’s Supercar. Another Z06 variant, the 2011 Carbon, could make the jump to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds. With a 505-horsepower, 7.0-liter V8 engine, the Z06 Carbon left a mark on the Chevy record books — for a few years, that is.
Though not as powerful as some of its counterparts, the Carbon used some nifty tricks to distribute better its weight, which gave it an edge in quickness and agility. 1. Corvette C7 ZR1
There are many ways to measure who is the king of automobiles; top speed is what everyone cares most about. As far as speed is a determinant ZR1 Says it all. The ZR1 nameplate deserves the title “King of the ‘Vettes” the C6ZR1 reigned for more than a decade, but the glory is short lived. It is now time for C7 ZR1 feel the throne. Mark Reuss, General Motors’ executive has branded ZR1 as a ‘fury.’ Not because of its violent anger, which the car has in spades, but because of, Reuss says, the way the ZR1 infers ‘a spirit of punishment on the competition.’ He also said that the Corvettes have long been known as the Americas sports car but with the capability of the new Z06 rivaling the best performance cars in the world, we will also be America’s supercar.
Engineered with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s good for an incredible 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, leaving virtually everything else on the road in the dust.ZR1 proved to be a not just but a straight -line missile when Chevy development team took it for trial and endurance test ZR1’S extra power geared it towards breaking the lap record set by Ford GT. The company has done a lot to tame all this extra power in two levels of aero package. A C7R race car upside down the wing at the front instead of the belly pan. An adjustable rear wing this makes it even fancier. The ZR1 is said to be a bit unstable on the racing field because it toys a fighter jet.
This feature makes it nearly impossible to and maximum benefit from its performance without a tech. The machine has no temperature issues on the truck. Chevy says they have run the ZR1 for very long periods in relatively high temperature as high as 100degF/38degC with no heat issues. Before the manufacture of the next Corvette which is going to be mid-engined C8, there will not be a faster, better handling version than this model.
