South Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo continues his 8-year run of releasing atleast one movie a year with his newest feature currently on the festival circuit.
Titled Right Now, Wrong Then, the film now has its first teaser trailer. Sang-soo once again takes on both directing and screenwriting duties, producing an original screenplay for the feature. Jung Jae-young and Kim Min-hee form the primary castmembers, with a supporting cast that includes Yoon Yeo-jeong and Yoo Joon-sang.
The film’s synopsis is as follows:
The delightful new film from Festival favourite Hong Sang-soo (In Another Country) presents two variations on a potentially fateful romantic encounter between a filmmaker and a painter, tracing each to its own very distinct outcome.
This will be Sang-Soo’s 17th feature, and made its World Premiere earlier this year at the Locarno International Film Festival, where it won the festival’s top prize, the Golden Leopard. The trailer itself deceptively toys with time, and displays cinematographer and frequent Sang-soo collaborator Park Hong-yeol’s skill at capturing detail.
The film will make its North American Premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, with US and Canadian theatrical release dates yet to be announced. The trailer can be seen below.
