First Video from Community’s Animated Christmas Episode
A few days ago Simon Howell posted a story announcing a stop-motion animated episode of NBC’s hit comedy series Community. I haven’t yet seen the show but it comes highly recommended from just about everyone I know and the idea of an animated Christmas special for a live series sounds like a brilliant idea. So much so, that it has finally motivated me to head out on purchase the first season on DVD.
The Christmas episode is said to be a throw back to the classic stop-motion Christmas specials from Rankin/Bass (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town) and based on the video below, it seems to hit all the right notes.
Check out the short but sweet first look at the episode after the jump, courtesy of EW.
The Community Christmas episode airs December 9th 2010.
Here’s the official synopsis:

When Abed (Danny Pudi) wakes up in stop-motion animation, he takes it as a sign that he and the group must re-discover the meaning of Christmas. Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) become growingly concerned about Abed’s mental health and enlist the help of Professor Duncan (John Oliver). The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed’s winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness.
