Full New Trailer For ‘John Carter’ – From ‘Wall-E’ Director Andrew Stanton

Good Morning America gave us the first look at the trailer for Disney’s John Carter early Wednesday, but now a much better version has arrived online. The first teaser trailer was atmospheric and mysterious but didn’t quite impress many people, but the new trailer gives a good look at the scope and beauty of the world building, justifying its $300 million price tag. A sample of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” is a welcome bonus, but the dialogue, mostly sloppy one liners, falls flat, and Taylor Kitsch is unconvincing as the lead. At best, John Carter seems heavily inspired by Dune and Star Wars, but the trailer shows nothing new and original. Here’s hoping for the best.

Directed vy Andrew Stanton (Wall-E) from a book by Edgar Rice Burroughs and starring Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, and Willem Dafoe, John Carter opens March 9, 2012.
