GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS TO FOLLOW
Of course he’s alive. Seriously? Did it come as that big of a surprise? He’s one of the pivotal characters of the show, and he died conveniently close to someone of a faith which has brought MULTIPLE characters back from the dead. And yet, so many people seemed surprised by the ending of the latest Game of Thrones, which saw protagonist Jon Snow brought back from the dead after coming down with a bad case of Multiple Stab Wounds. Naturally, the internet is buzzing, both with the scene itself and with actor Kit Harrington’s apology for flat-out lying to his fans.
In the latest “inside the episode” featurette, the team behind Game of Thrones offer basically a play-by-play for the episode, discussing not just the big Jon Snow twist at the end, but all of the events of the episode, including our reunion with Bran, and Ramsay’s latest efforts to be as unlikable as humanly possible, because this show needs someone for everyone to hate now that Jeoffrey’s gone.
To throw my own two cents into the ring, one thing Jon snow’s return has thrown into the open is the willingness of the cast and crew of Game of Thrones to lie to us about where the show is going and what will or won’t happen next. This means that, realistically, we can’t trust a single word they’ve ever said or ever will say. And you know what THAT means? That THIS could be a total lie. Seriously, they’ve shown their willingness to just lie to us. Far as I’m concerned, that means Lady Stoneheart is back on the table.
