Super Mario Bros. is arguably one of the best and most influential video games ever made, and thirty years later, Mario remains the most recognizable character in video-gaming. Three decades after he played a supporting role in Shigeru Miyamoto’s Donkey Kong, Mario’s popularity continues to grow and this week marks the release of his brand new game, Super Mario Maker — a game that allows players to design and play their own levels. In the meantime, HalloweenCostumes.com has made a nifty infographic tracing the origins and evolution of Mario, through the words of Miyamoto himself. Enjoy!
