Sound On Sight Podcast, Episode 396: ‘Interstellar’

interstellar-movie-review-bb12672f-a300-4262-8868-501b1af3833f

This week we discuss Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, a visually stunning popcorn spectacle, loaded with thrills and chills and plenty of film-school references. There’s just enough quantum mechanics for physics geeks to try and convince us that the film’s space-travel scenario is halfway or hypothetically plausible. We’ll discuss all that and bring up comparisons to other films and filmmakers including Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 A Space Odyssey, M. Knight Shyamalan’s Signs, Andrei Tarkovsky’s Solaris, and Steven Spielberg’s career in general. Joining us to review the film in both spoiler and non-spoiler segments is returning guest hosts, Kate Renenbohm and Julian Carrington.
