New Zealand filmmaking team Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi premiered their horror comedy What we do in the shadows at Sundance Film Festival last year to critical praise and now it’s finally getting a wider theatrical release. The film is center around a trio of centuries old vampires played by Jemaine Clement, Taika Waiti and Jonathan Brugh living in modern society of Wellington suburb of Te Aro. The premise is that they invite a film crew to document their lives, like a mash-up of Interview with a Vampire with This is Spinal Tap. The film takes stabs at secret societies, the vampires versus werewolves conflict and age disparity in vampire romances.
What we do in the shadows will open in North America February 13, 2015.
