Natalie Portman Turns Gunslinger in ‘Jane Got a Gun’ Trailer

“Got enough firepower here to start another war.”

When a dozen vengeful outlaws come to kill her husband, Jane Hammond (Natalie Portman) employs her former lover (the ever-busy Joel Edgerton) to help fend off the murderous gang and protect her family.

Helmed by Warrior director Gavin O’Connor, Jane Got a Gun looks to continue in the footsteps of beautifully shot modern westerns (see True Grit and Slow West), and Portman appears impassioned and gritty in the gunslinger role. Also, with so many villains and such a high stake, the film seems bound to end in mayhem. Among others in the cast are Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting) and Noah Emmerich (The Americans).
