Superheroes are becoming more and more pervasive in the land of TV and movies. From DC’s The Flash, through Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and this year’s Daredevil, to just about any heroed-out blockbuster, now comes CBS’s Supergirl.
With little more than a month’s time away, CBS has released a new trailer of its show, which expands its view beyond the previously-shown footage of the pilot.
Giving viewers a glimpse of what to expect from the first season, the trailer features a lot of action and the titular Supergirl being, well, Supergirl. Just like her own cousin (Superman), she shoots laser out of her eyes, has super breath and aerial abilities.
It will make a whole lot more sense when it makes its premiere on October 26.
Along with its advertised never-before-seen footage, the trailer charts the rouges’ gallery of villains that the superheroine Kara Zor-El will be batting throughout the run of Supergirl this fall season.
Melissa Benoist (who was last year seen in Whiplash) will take on the role of Supergirl, and is potentially looking to become a welcome entry into the ever-burgeoning genre of superheroes and — in her case — superheroines.
