Summer may be the time for big blockbuster films, but it’s also the time for movie trailers for films being released in the upcoming Oscar season. Danny Boyle’s biopic Steve Jobs finally has an official trailer after its first teaser was released in May. With Boyle at the helm and a script by Aaron Sorkin, Steve Jobs is definitely one of the most anticipated films coming out this fall. Here’s the synopsis:
His passion and ingenuity have been the driving force behind the digital age. However his drive to revolutionize technology was sacrificial. Ultimately it affected his family life and possibly his health. In this revealing film we explore the trials and triumphs of a modern day genius, the late CEO of Apple inc. Steven Paul Jobs.
The trailer showcases all of the main talent in the film, most notably of course Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs himself. The film shows Jobs at three points in his life, all taking place around three vital product launches. While the film obviously portrays Steve Jobs as a visionary and genius, it looks like Boyle and Sorkin don’t shy away from delving into his darker side (his frayed relationship with his wife and daughter, his conflicts with his team members). You also get a good look at the supporting cast, with Kate Winslet playing an essential member of Jobs’ team, Jeff Daniels as Jobs’ boss, Seth Rogen as Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Katherine Waterston as Jobs’ wife.
It’ll be a treat to see how Boyle and Sorkin’s collaboration comes together and how Fassbender, as one of the leading actors out there, takes on this material. Based on this new trailer, these talents, including the rest of the cast, are definitely on their A-game.
Steve Jobs hits theaters in the U.S. October 9. Check out the trailer below:
