‘Pan’, Joe Wright’s take on the iconic character, gets its first trailer

Over the years, the tale of Peter Pan has seen numerous film and television adaptations, as J.M Barrie’s story of the inhabitants of Neverland can be seen from movies as old as 1924’s Peter Pan to NBC’s upcoming telecast Peter Pan Live! Now director Joe Wright is set to add his own spin to the story. Known for movies such as Atonement and Hanna, Wright’s next film, titled Pan, sees him adapt the story from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs. Wright is working with a cast that features relative newcomer Levi Miller as the titular character, with Garrett Hedlund as his nemesis Hook, and Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, with Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, and Nonso Anozie in supporting roles. With the movie set to release in American theatres on July 17, 2015, the first trailer for the feature has now been released. The trailer, which showcases the film’s desire to tell the story of Pan’s Oliver Twist-eque roots his transportation to Neverland via flying ship, can be seen below.
