Remembering the 35 best Key & Peele sketches

Sketch comedy has been making a big comeback in recent years with unlikely hits such as Portlandia and Inside Amy Schumer; but of the crop of new shows, Comedy Central’s Key & Peele might just be my favourite. The genius sketch comedians (who were previously on MadTV together), launched their show in 2012, and ever since, the duo has brought to life an amazing array of characters and scenarios that have pretty much reinvigorated the world of sketch comedy. Whether making lighthearted jabs at pop-culture trends or addressing serious political issues, their impressions, strong points of view and satire have tackled all topics with a twisted and always hilarious irony. Apart from the impeccable writing, the show’s success is partly to do with an incredible filmmaking team who obsess over every detail and often construct elaborate set-pieces. Last night marked the end of this incredible show and so what better time to look back at some of their best work. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are considered geniuses in the comedy world and so the task of sorting through their hundreds of funny sketches and coming up with a short list is rather daunting.So in order to simplify things, I’ve decided to stick with only those sketches released online. Chances are, if you are reading this, you are more than familiar with the show, but if you are not, I highly recommend giving it a go as soon as possible.
