Anthology films have been a mainstay in cinema for a number of years, as numerous filmmakers take the opportunity to create short films around a specific subject, or rooted in a specific genre. One of the more well-received of these anthologies was 2007’s Paris, Je T’aime, which led to a New York, I Love You. Film fans were thus intrigued to learn that a third one was underway, this time focused on the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. Titled Rio, Eu Te Amo, or Rio, I Love You, the anthology features works from directors such as Fernando Meirelles, Paolo Sorrentino, José Padilha, and John Turturro, with performances from Emily Mortimer, Vincent Cassel, Jason Isaacs, and Harvey Keitel. The first trailer for the film has now been released, and can be seen below.
