Filmmaker Stanley Kubrick is one of the most well-regarded directors of all time, having been the driving force behind numerous classics spread out over multiple genres. One of those is the 1980 horror film The Shining, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel about a caretaker’s family and the trials they face at the Overlook Hotel over the course of one winter. Over the years, those familiar with Kubrick’s meticulous filmmaking process have come up with numerous theories about what the auteur was trying to say with the film, and this discussion forms the basis of Room 237. A new full trailer for the film, directed by Rodney Ascher, has now been released, and can be seen below.
