Sarah Polley turns documentarian in ‘Stories We Tell’ trailer

Sarah Polley was known to many film fans for her work in front of the camera, having added her name to the list of child actresses who go on to have distinguished careers as an adult. She defied all expectations, however, with her 2006 directorial debut Away From Her, establishing herself as equally adept behind the camera as well. While her follow-up, Take This Waltz, did not earn as stellar reviews, much of the praise the movie did garner was traced back to Polley as well. For her third film, however, Polley is going in a different direction entirely, as she explores her own family history in Stories We Tell, a documentary five years in the making which will be screening at TIFF 2012. A trailer has now been released, and can be seen below.

  1. Jean Sébastien Defoy says

Just a small correction, her directorial debut was with the film “Away from her” rather than “Away we go”.
