SDCC 2015: New trailer for ‘Batman v. Superman’ shows why the two heroes are clashing

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill star in 'Batman v. Superman'

“The red capes are coming. The red capes are coming.”

The massive Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con revealed the second full trailer for the 2016 follow-up to director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel with a much more focused look at why Ben Affleck’s version of the Caped Crusader is upset with Henry Cavill’s Superman.

The first trailer was more of a brief picture of the battle between Batman and Superman, but this trailer focuses more on what led Bruce Wayne (Affleck) to come after Superman following the destruction that his battle with General Zod left at the end of Man of Steel. It also seems like Zod will play a role in the film with his body showing up briefly in the hands of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg).

The trailer briefly showed some fight scenes from Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) with some glimpses of Gadot in formal wear as well. Eisenberg gets some moments also as Luthor and seems to be playing the awkward billionaire genius that he was brought in to play (for good or bad).

While this trailer again focuses more on Superman, it shows a lot of interesting moments from Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, which is something that we will hopefully get more of since the movie doesn’t come out until March 2016.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jason Momoa.
