While filmmaker Sam Raimi’s most commercially successful endeavour to date has been the Tobey Maguire-starring Spiderman franchise, the one that most of Raimi’s fans associate him with is the Evil Dead trilogy. News that Raimi would be involved in a tv continuation of the saga was thus met with excitement by many, and the revelation that the show, titled Ash vs. Evil Dead and set to air on Starz, would have a presence at the San Diego Comic-Con made the panel one of the more highly anticipated ones at the festival.
The panel took place on Friday, July 10th, and included the reveal of a full trailer for the series, as well as a series premiere date. In attendance at the panel were Sam Raimi and Ivan Raimi, along with series star Bruce Campbell, who reprises his role from the original trilogy, as well as co-star Lucy Lawless and executive producer and showrunner Craig DiGregorio. The panel, which was moderated by Scott Aukerman, has now been released in its entirety and can be seen below.
