There’s a few films that Sound On Sight had been extremely proud of discovering before other film review sites such as Dogtooth, The Hurt Locker and The Loved Ones. Another great discovery was Tomas Alfredson’s Let The Right One In, a horror film of near universal appeal, and already a classic. Now the Swedish director is back with his new film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which is based on John Le Carré’s best selling spy novel. The original BBC version starring Alec Guinness is a great piece of work and I’m sure most fans aren’t too happy about this remake – but based on the two trailers we’ve seen, and the filmmaker’s proven talent, I would say we are in safe hands. This second trailer shows off the great cast in much more detail which includes Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, John Hurt and Mark Strong. A great story adapted by my new favourite director, puts this at the top of my “must see list”. It is also should be noted that the trailer showcases the beautiful cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema who also worked on Let The Right One In.
