With shows such as The Affair, Masters of Sex, and House of Lies, Showtime has seen its stock rise both commercially and critically over the past few years. One of their most notable shows, Homeland, featured two leads for most of its run, in the form of Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, until the latter’s character departed the series. This wasn’t the end of the working relationship between Lewis and Showtime, however, as fans of both the performer and the channel were excited to learn that he’d be a key part of Showtime’s upcoming series Billions.
Co-created by The New York Times financial columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, Billions also stars Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, and Maggie Siff. Showtime has now announced that the series will make its premiere on January 17, 2016 at 10 pm ET. To go with the premiere date announcement, a full trailer for the series has also been released, and can be seen below.
