A Tribe Called Quest is one of my all time favourite hip hop groups ever. Formed in 1985 and composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad (and let us not forget Jarobi White who left the group for about ten years), the act went on to impact the Hip Hop community with such songs as Bonita Applebum, Can I Kick It?, I Left My Wallet in El Segundo, Scenario, Check the Rhime, Jazz (We’ve Got), Award Tour and Electric Relaxation. Along with De La Soul, the group was a central part of the Native Tongues Posse, and enjoyed the most commercial success out of all the groups to emerge from that collective.

One of the breakout films of the 2010 Sundance Festival belonged to actor Michael Rapaport. Beats, Rhymes And Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest was critically acclaimed and won over movie buffs regardless if they disliked Hip Hop music. Now a trailer has been released for the film and lovers of the group will rejoice knowing it is soon the hit the multiplex. Check out the trailer below. Enjoy!
