Watch the Wes Anderson directed ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ trailer

In a week of Star Wars domination on the internet, it looks like another parody of the teaser has hit the web with the joke also going after acclaimed auteur Wes Anderson.

The parody, titled “Wes Anderson Presents: Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer,” uses many of the techniques that make Anderson so unique starting with the title letters on the opening shot. It continues with close-ups on small notes, bordered shots, and a French-infused soundtrack to epitomize the quirkiness.

While it is probably unlikely that the director would take on a Star Wars movie, he is having one of his more successful years ever as his film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, went on to bring in good money at the box office and could be a force again during the awards season. The film won the Silver Berlin Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be Bill Murray-less next year on December 15, 2015.
