Sunday Shorts: ‘Un Chien Andalou’, by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali

Today’s film is the 1929 short Un Chien Andalou. The film is created by Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel, the latter of whom also directs. This short marked the first foray into film for Dali, who is known primarily for his paintings in surrealism. This film was also the directing debut for Buñuel, who went on to become a revered filmmaker on the international stage, many of whose works are considered classics. This short does contain graphic content in the form of human body mutilation.
