Gotham has been a show that has become well known for its off kilter colorful villains and it’s unique flair to balance a tone of grim horror and gritty dark humor, and “Transference” not only makes a case for how truly interesting the heroes on the show are but also presents the perfect balance of all the tones the show is capable of. It has horror, humor, action, rich characters, and a developing mystery that promises to make the next season a truly exciting experience.

“A Dead Man Feels No Cold” is an exciting and chilling episode that will melt hearts with the tragic tale of Victor Fries who had turned into a monster trying to keep his ill-ridden wife alive.

This season of Gotham continues in stride as it brings Jerome’s story arc to a surprisingly definitive close.

As Gotham heads towards the end of its first season it winds up some plot threads with an episode that has everyone reaching a turning point. After his big win against Commissioner Loeb in “Everyone has a Cobblepot” Gordon has let his guard down a bit, this has allowed Loeb the chance to retaliate against him. The mark that Loeb places on Gordon gets him so riled up that he is even more determined to bring down the dirty Commissioner, but first he has to deal with the serial killer known as “the Ogre” which is merely set up in this episode as part of the case of the week.

In this week’s Gotham, Gordon returns to the Gotham City Police Department to regain his Detective rank but in order to do that he has to prove himself to Commission Loeb by bringing in the Arkham Asylum inmate that escaped in “Rogues’ Gallery” under his watch. This episode shows Gordon revitalized and more focused with the understanding that he needs to be at the GCPD and nowhere else; it’s where he wants to be and where he can do the most good. We have seen Gordon be all gun ho before as in “Penguins Umbrella” but this time he’s taking charge and asserting himself, where before he was acting reckless with unrealistic goals.

The series finale to the CW show takes an opportunity to examine the character of Nikita, showing who she really is by standing her against her nemesis Amanda, in a thrilling end.

Despite Division having more resources all season, Amanda was a looming threat on all the organisation’s major players, and remained so no matter how few allies and operations she had. Her alignment with The Shop thus spelled very bad news for Nikita and co., news that came to a head last week with the reveal that Michael’s new hand had come with another caveat, putting Nikita between a rock and a hard place; kill the US President, or watch her own partner die a brutal death. The season finale explores the outcome of that choice, providing some genuine twists, and bringing closure to a major part of Nikita.
