‘Super Smash Bros Wii U’ is, well, super

Nintendo’s smash hit (too easy?) Super Smash Bros is back after a long break of almost two months. Yes, I am playfully referring to the recent release of Super Smash Bros for 3DS, but make no mistake; Super Smash Bros Wii U is a very different game from its 3DS counterpart.

News and impressions from PAX ’14

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the first Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), a wonderful show dedicated entirely to gaming. One of the distinct advantages of living in Seattle is that PAX Prime, the initial PAX show (of which there are now four), is right next door. I had the privilege to attend, and I’m here to report on the best parts of PAX ’14!

‘Super Smash Bros’: Warning! A New Challenger is Approaching!

Masahiro Sakurai, best known as the creator of Super Smash Bros, took to Miiverse today to announce the reveal of the next new fighter in the Smash Bros roster. Scheduled for Monday, July 14, at 7 AM, the unveiling will be live-streamed on the game’s official website rather than in a Nintendo Direct video or by any other means. Who could this approaching challenger be? According to Sakurai, the development team is “nearing the bottom of the stash of new challenger videos that we’ve made…” so who else do we have to look forward to? In proper fanboy fashion, here are some of my best guesses, desired improbable possibilities, and wild wishes for the next Smash challenger.
