‘The East’, actress and writer Brit Marling’s newest feature, releases its first trailer

The East

Brit Marling has already worn multiple hats during her short film career, choosing to carve out her own opportunities in Hollywood, rather than settle for what came her way. She turned heads in 2011 with the indie feature Another Earth, which she starred in and co-wrote, and continued to garner interest with supporting turns in Arbitrage and The Company You Keep. She recently picked up the pen once again, this time to work on the screenplay for The East. Marling reteamed with her Sound of My Voice co-writer Zal Batmanglij, who also takes directing duties this time around. Marling also takes an onscreen role, joined by Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgard, Shiloh Fernandez, Patricia Clarkson, and Julia Ormond. The first trailer for the film, which is screening at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, has now been released, and can be seen below.
