Alright, so Super 8 is officially my most anticipated film of the year despite all the great work premiering at both the Cannes and Venice film fests. I love my art-house films but I’m desperately craving a great Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster considering so far, there hasn’t been one good big studio film released this year. This week, Paramount Pictures has been premiering mini-clips from the JJ Abrams-directed Super 8, with each 30-second spot premiering on Fox at 8pm. The fourth and final clip aired last night and shows the aftermath of the train crash. Watch the new clip embedded after the jump. Also worth noting, is the new Japanese vintage Steven Spielberg aesthetic looking poster seen above, which hit the internet yesterday.
Here is the official plot synopsis and below that you can watch my favorite TV spot for the film.
In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
