In a recent article, our very own Les Chappell wrote about why people should start watching The Knick this season. In his article, he described the show saying, “The Knick is home to as many dysfunctional individuals, secrets, and prejudices as E.R. or Grey’s Anatomy.” Chances are if you are browsing this post you’ve already seen the first season, but I highly recommend checking out his article just the same. It’s a fascinating piece that not only recaps the first season (giving you a chance to refresh your memory) but also lists what makes the series so great. The Steven Soderbergh-directed show, created by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, looks and sounds like nothing else on TV. Soderbergh’s gorgeous direction and Cliff Martinez’s haunting, insistent score are enough reason to recommend the series, but so are the fabulous performances from Clive Owen, Andre Holland, Juliet Rylance, and Eve Hewson, to name just a few. After releasing some brief teasers back in March, Cinemax has finally unveiled the first full trailer which shows Dr. John Thackery back in action. As Les stated in his article, The Knick is created by a trifecta of talent that’s hard to beat. Check out the trailer below.
The Knick Season 2 will return to Cinemax October 16, 2015. Be sure to come back and check out our reviews which you can find here.
