The Televerse #43- Life Unexpected with Jason Griffin

With Kate safely back, The Televerse returns to its standard (summer) format. This week, Futurama is back, along Wilfred, and we get our first looks at Inside Men and The Newsroom. Throw in new episodes of Eagleheart, So You Think You Can Dance, True Blood, Lost Girl, and Bunheads, and it’s as full a week in TV as we’ve had in quite a while. Then we welcome the TVaholic, Jason Griffin from the TV Times Three podcast, to the DVD Shelf to help us take a look at the short-lived CW series Life Unexpected.

**The San Diego Comic Con meetup mentioned is on Thursday, July 12th, from 8-10pm at Dublin Square Irish Pub & Grill. It’s being jointly hosted by Battleship Pretension, Criterion Cast, and the Warner Archive Collection. Check out “Dial M for Meetup” on Facebook for further details!

Bunheads – I liked the premiere episode but the second ep seemed a bit tedious. Missed the third episode. But Sutton Foster and Kelly Bishop are a good match.

True Blood – Having just watched the first season of The Vampire Diaries I can really notice how over-the-top TB is. I like how Jessica’s character has evolved and I think that Sooki’s role might be less because Anna Paquin is expecting twins. But with so many characters and storylines it’s easy to see why she’d get less focus.

Wilfred – Just finished watching season one and am ready for season 2! I like how Wilfred stands in for the issues Ryan has in his life (though sometimes I feel as if I’m looking for things that aren’t really there.)

Louie – I didn’t like his show on HBO and stayed away on FX but I keep hearing great things so I’ll dive into season 3 and give it a try.

Can’t wait for Breaking Bad the most! 8 episodes now and 8 episodes later. Looking to see how low Walter White can go!

Thanks for having me on. It was fun talking Life Unexpected with both of you and being a Televerse first, given our disagreement about the show.
