The Sundance Film Festival usually has an impressive short film program, and 2011 is no different. Along with the Beastie Boys film, another short that has everyone excited is called The Terrys, from cult comedy duo Tim Heidecker & Eric Wareheim.
The duo is best known for Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job, an American sketch comedy television series, seen on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim comedy block. The program features surrealistic and often satirical humour – sometimes closer to anti-humor – public access-style musical acts, bizarre faux-commercials, as well as editing and special effects chosen to enhance the show’s otherworldly fake-retro feel. The duo has just finished the fifth and final season of their own television show, and lately have appeared on HBO’s Funny or Die.
Well now a trailer for their latest short film, The Terrys, has landed online. The humour isn’t for everyone, but fans of their popular TV show may enjoy it. The Terrys will be premiere at Sundance on January 21 and then run on HBO during the new season of Funny or Die.
Here’s the plot description from the Sundance site:
“Two down-and-out losers conceive a child in a fit of drug-induced passion. They consider the child an abomination, but they learn that this “special” child has a special purpose.”
