The Wolverine

One of the most popular characters from the X-Men comic series has been Wolverine, the immortal mutant with an adamantium-fused skeleton. Portrayed onscreen by Hugh Jackman in Bryan Singer’s 2000 feature X-Men, the character proved to be just as popular on the big screen, leading to an appearance in ever subsequent X-Men feature, as well as his own spinoff in 2009, titled X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Despite mixed reviews, audiences continued to show interest in seeing Wolverine’s story portrayed on the big screen, leading to a sequel to the 2009 film. Titled The Wolverine, the film sees James Mangold take over the director’s chair this time around, with Mark Bomback and Christopher McQuarrie taking on writing duties. Jackman returns in the role, joined this time by Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Rila Fukushima, and Hiroyuki Sanada. The first trailer for the movie has now been released, and can be seen below.
