Wouldn’t you think the studio executives would hace the common sense not showcase the words “M. Night Shyamalan” over the top of a movie title at this point in time. Oh well. Have never had interest in the The Last Airbender TV show; always seemed like an Americanized anime for kids under 12. But it has many legions of adult fans who would say otherwise. But I couldn’t care less about this one. It looks epic I guess and its supposed to be all mysterious. It’s Shyamalan’s last chance at redemption so he better use his brain this time. But fans should rest assured that the TV show’s creator Michael Dante McMartino has written the story, so no gimmicky twist ending. At least I hope not. The Last Airbender will open on July 2, 2010 and its cast includes Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel.
