Best-known to audiences for his portrayals of dark, troubled, morally or mentally ambiguous characters, actor Paddy Considine steps in as director for his first feature Tyrannosaur, a harrowing love story that excited Sundance festival-goers early this year. The feature stars the always fantastic actor Peter Mullan as an angry, cynical alcoholic who has reached rock-bottom. He strikes up a friendship with Hannah (Olivia Colman), a Christian charity-shop worker who helps bring him back to life. The film was adapted from his previous short Dog Altogether (also starring Mullan), which won the 2007 BAFTA award for Best Short Film, as well as a Silver Lion for Best Short Film at the 2007 Venice Film Festival.

The film received outstanding reviews at Sundance early this year, and is set to play TIFF next month. Here is the trailer. Enjoy!
