TIFF 2013: ‘Child of God’, the Cormac McCarthy adaptation directed by James Franco, gets a trailer

Child of God

Novelist Cormac McCarthy has been a respected figure in the literary world for several decades. It was with the second adaptation of his works, however, that his profile rose in the film world, as the Coen brothers adaptation of his novel No Country For Old Men took home the Academy Award for Best Picture. The latest filmmaker to tackle a McCarthy novel is James Franco, who takes on co-writing duties for an adaptation of the McCarthy novel Child of God. Franco also directs, and stars in the film alongside Tim Blake Nelson, Jim Parrack, and Scott Haze. The first trailer for the film, which shall be making its North American premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, has now been released, and can be seen below.
