Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are total Besties, right? Whether it’s the update desk or making jokes about Jodie Foster’s Beaver at the Golden Globes, the two of them together in the same room are unstoppable. They don’t look anything alike, but they may as well be sisters.
While Baby Mama was something of a let down, their latest Sisters gives us exactly the crass, goofy gal-mance we’ve been waiting for since last awards season. Directed by Pitch Perfect‘s Jason Moore and written by SNL and 30 Rock writer Paula Pell, Sisters also stars Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Bobby Moynihan, Rachel Dratch, and John Cena. Here’s the synopsis:
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for Sisters, a new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need.
So if you’re looking for some good counter programming on December 18 to Star Wars, check out Sisters, but first watch out for any under-teet. Watch the trailer below:
