At the moment, AMC is winning the war when it comes to cable drama series with The Walking Dead ratings increasing week by week, but one show isn’t enough to keep this network on top. As is, Mad Men‘s immense budgetary needs are eating away at the budgets for other shows, and, now that Breaking Bad is over, the network doesn’t have much to brag about. Hell on Wheels doesn’t have enough viewers and Low Winter Sun was a huge disappointment in both ratings and critical response. The network desperately needs another hit, and their next attempt comes with the upcoming Revolutionary War series Turn. Written by Craig Silverstein, based on the book Washington’s Spies and directed by Rupert Wyatt, Turn is set in the summer of 1778 and tells the story of New York farmer Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell), who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence. Executive-produced by the men behind Breaking Bad and Bones, Turn is set to premiere in spring 2014. Check out the trailer below!
